Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since that period of that year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 various events.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved service.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour championship, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a tight third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
